Min nye Mantra

INVICTUS by William Ernest Henley

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

The fairytale of the Pigeon family and the Wicked Orange-Witch of the North

Once upon a time in a far-away land called Aarhus, lived a family of three pigeons; Papa Grey, mama White-neck and their daughter, Black-tip. They lived peacefully, and every day they flew across their beautifull land only to return to their favourite spot where they'd many-a-times made their nests, and laid their eggs.

This was the perfect place, the family thought. It was close to their friends and families, and it gave shelter on a rainy day. They were considered the luckiest of pigeons in all of Langenæs with their 2 m2 big castle, and they frequently invited their friends over for parties and gatherings.

But one sunny day at the end of summer, there was a change in the cozy habitat: an unknown odour appared and reappred the following days. The startled family kept their distance but stayed near to catch a glimpse of the danger at hand. Then, one day it appared out of the magical see-through gate, an awfull flaming, giant creature carrying a long, white, branch-like thing with no leaves in her featherfree wings, and with a boulder of terrible noise following it from inside the magical gateway. It was a witch, they were sure of it!
The wicked orange witch had something else in its grasp aswell; it was something waterlike that reeked and stung their noses although they'd kept a safe distance. What on earth was she doing, they thought. At first, she rearranged a whole bunch of stuff, and then she scraped with her giant claws and an odd-looking, blue thing with hair on it, away their wonderfull colletion of this summers excrements and feathers! THEN she took the long white stick-thing and bruched it all into a corner! How dare it?!?! This could still be mended with some hard work they said to one another, it still had their sent.
But what was it doing now? The evil, orange witch throws the liquidy mass all over the beautifull, white and green/grey walls and floor. Oh, what a smell! Her giant body moving back and forth, up and down, grunting and making strange noises that resembled those coming from inside the magical gateway. What has happend?! The family goes to investigate when she finally dissapared. It is all gone!!

The following day, the young Balck-tip goes back to have a look, expecting the wicked witch to be gone. But what a sight, what horror awaits her! Their concrete heaven has dissapared under something brown-mushy-like, flat thing on the ground, and the walls were back to the horrible brick colour from when her parents had moved in the summer before. But there was more: there was now several huge plants in multiple colours and odd-looking, hard things in the same colours as the plants, standing on the table with FIRE in them! What kind of hellish place has this become?!?! What are they to do now?!

to be continued...
